Drws Gobaith-West is one of a pretty pair of stone faced cottages located within the heart of the Dowrog Common on the outskirts of the picturesque city of St Davids in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in West Wales.

Drws Gobaith-west offers modern, well equipped, self-catering accommodation for up to 4 guests. The cottage was extensively refurbished in 2015 and the owners continue to make improvements.

Drws Gobaith means ‘Door of Hope’ and is thought to be a metaphor for being close to the pilgrimage route through Rhodiad y Brenin to the cathedral. The two cottages are believed to date from around 1860 and it is presumed were built to replace the ‘ty unnos’ that once stood on the site. Our cottage is the western of the pair.

Dowrog Common has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) since 1954 and sustains rare wildlife, both flora and fauna.

The cottage is an ideal base for wildlife lovers, walkers, visits to the coastline and beaches as well as simply relaxing.

Deallir fod Drws Gobaith wedi’i enwi am fod yn agos at y ffordd pererindod trwy Rhodiad y Brenin tuag at y gadeirlan. Credir fod y ddau bwthyn yn dyddio o tua 1860 ac eu bod wedi eu hadeiladu i gymryd lle y ty-unnos a oedd yn sefyll ar y safle.

Mae Drws Gobaith yn cynnig llety hunan-arlwyo cyfoes i hyd at pedwar o westeion. Cafodd y bwthyn ei hadnewyddu’n helaeth yn 2015.

Mae Comin y Dowrog wedi’i dynodi yn Safle o Ddiddordeb Gwyddonol Arbennig ers 1954 ac yn cynnal bywyd gwyllt prin, planhigion ac anifeiliaid.

Mae’r bwthyn yn fan delfrydol ar gyfer ymlacio, yn ogystal ac apelio at ymwelwyr sy’n hoffi cerdded, gwylio byd natur, neu ymweld a’r llu o draethau cyfagos.
